Dr. Reed Maxwell, Ph.D., ABPP (Clinical) is a board-certified clinical psychologist licensed in New York, Kansas, and Missouri. He is also able to provide telepsychological services to people in any US state participating in PSYPACT. He received his doctorate in 2017 from Binghamton University, a “public ivy” university located in upstate New York. He completed postdoctoral training in New York City with the Personality Disorders Institute at Weill Cornell Medicine as a research coordinator and postdoctoral associate, as well as with the Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research at Columbia University as a psychoanalytic fellow.
Dr. Maxwell specializes in treating turbulent, “rollercoaster” emotions, as well as difficulties relating comfortably and effectively to others. Sometimes these experiences go along with a feeling of not knowing who one is (e.g., “What is important to me? Who am I, really? What do I want to do in life?”), as well as making rash choices one often regrets.
He also uses cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy and other research-supported interventions to help clients curb excessive anxiety, combat procrastination and avoidance, disrupt depressive thinking patterns and reshape unhelpful routines, habits, and behaviors.
Overall, Dr. Maxwell tailors his therapeutic approaches to the unique challenges of each client. He uses time-honored, evidence-based interventions to help people live their most fulfilling lives.
